Frequently Asked Questions

In the wake of quarantine/COVID-19, getting together for a group night like this can be a bit of a challenge. We want you to be safe at home, so while it may seem like a technical nightmare... it's TOTALLY worth it. 

We wanted to lay out the recommended action for teams to have fun and get the most out of their experience. So we laid out some FAQs, which we recommend reading/sharing with your teammates.


Q: How does the gameplay work? What are the rules? How does scoring work? 

There will be three rounds of team-based trivia. 15 questions for the first and second round each. With 20 questions for the final round.

For more detailed rules, visit our official rules page. We will review these before the game starts, but we highly recommend you read them in advance. 

Q: Is there a theme to the trivia questions? 
Each individual round will be themed on topics ranging from pop culture to general knowledge and more.


Q: OK! What do I need to do first to start the evening of gameplay?
Log in to our Zoom room. Details will be sent out for the Zoom room/meeting password on Thursday morning via email. The Zoom room will open at 7:45 pm. 

The game begins PROMPTLY at 8 pm. Don't be late. The zoom conference room is part of our planned show/experience so enter. 

PRO-TIP: We recommend that you open the group Zoom on a laptop/desktop computer for the optimal viewing experience of our game/show. If you are unable to do so, don't worry. 

Q: How do I submit my answers and play?
All players will be contributing to their team score, so it's important that YOU'RE ready to answer the questions. Don't rely on your team because they're relying on you! 

We'll be using CrowdPurr to collect your answers. All you need is a web browser. More details on accessing CrowdPurr will be given at the start of the night. 

You do NOT need to install any software. 

PRO-TIP: If you're using your laptop or computer to view our Zoom room, we recommend using a second device (tablet, phone, etc.) to submit your answers. However, it is not required that you're using a second device. 

Q: I want to chat with my team during the game, but we're socially distancing. What can I do?
Quarantine is tough, right? We recommend using a group chat (via text, FaceTime, Skype, Facebook Rooms). However, keep in mind that questions are timed, so you won't have too much time to debate the answers with your team. 

Q: How long will each game last? Will there be breaks? 
In between each round, we'll be offering fabulous entertainment. In fact, for August 13 kickoff event, Vinchelle has a WONDERFUL (quick) show planned between each round. 

The total run time for all of the evening's programming should be approximately 75-90 minutes. We promise to keep you entertained. 

Q: I can't make it one week. Is a substitute player allowed? 
Yes! Let league management know by 7:00 PM on the evening of the game via email (info@lgbtqatrivia.com) about the substitution. 

Additionally, the team is encouraged to make a “suggested donation” of $10 for that week’s substitute on our website at: lgbtqatrivia.com/donate. 

Only one alternate per player for the duration of the season.

Q: What if I have technical issues during the game?
If you’re having technical issues, in the Zoom chat, you can privately message us at TECHNICAL SUPPORT or text us at 267-585-2283 immediately. If you simply missed a question, don't worry. That's why we're using an average score for the evening.
